Tracy's Biography

I started riding when I was eleven years old and have been showing Arabians for over a decade. Along with my family we have developed a small breeding program of our own and so far our two that have been shown have been Champions. While training my own horses I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Equine Science from Cal Poly Pomona. I aim to provide an atmosphere where youth and adults can enjoy their horses as well as learn to ride with confidence and effectiveness. I wish to expose newcomers to the wonderful Arabian breed. Their intelligence, versatility, and beauty make them a joy to own and ride. Arabians can compete in a variety of disciplines from hunt seat to saddle-seat and western to sport-horse. Many programs are available to amateurs and youth riders, such as the Achievement Awards and the annual Youth Nationals.

National Highlights:

2 National Championships in HA Show Hack
2 National Reserve Championships in HA Show Hack

Meet Kristen

Kristen Davis is a very valuable asset to Canyon Lake Farm and Tracy. She is our full time groom and assistant and has been involved with us since we first started last year. Kristen has been riding for just over a year and since she's always working hard, she doesn't always get the time in the saddle she deserves.

The two met while working at the Chino Valley Equine Hospital and she showed that she was not only interested in learning but that she was smart too! Kristen got to show at her first Class A show this Spring and earned a 3rd place after only taking a few lessons. We are all glad she is getting to join in the fun and not just have to work.

Lesson Program

At CLF we take great pride in our lesson program. As this is where it all begins. Students take a hands on approach to horsemanship. They learn to groom, tack and properly handle their horse before and after riding. Students are encouraged to volunteer so that they can learn more about the care and training of our wonderful horses. We are always in need of help.

Students are assigned their lesson mount based on their previous riding experience (or lack there of). Sonoma Saphire is our "perfect" lady who is great with all level of riders. She was a jumping mount and is now "semi-retired" giving lessons and a little showing. Stars Legacy is our intermediate mount who is a performance champion and is a broodmare for CLF. She is great at teaching riders how to be a little more assertive or sometimes a little more sensitive.

Most students begin on the longe line for a number of lessons. They learn proper position and balance without having to worry about controlling the horse. As they progress their lessons become very personalized based on their age and skill level.

Lease Program

Red Package:
Half-Lease Lesson Horse $375/month
This entitles 1 rider to ride horse 2 times per week on their own (M-F) with 1
lesson per week.

Gold Package:
Half-Lease Lesson Horse $500/month
This entitles 1 rider to ride horse 1 time per week on their own (M-F) and have 2
group lessons per week.

*Half Leasers also have priority over showing lesson horses. Sometimes other
horses are also available for Half-Lease and Full-Lease, please contact for further
details. A full lease would require that you take over all expenses of horse.

Showing

We plan on attending as many shows as my clients wish to attend. There are several "local" shows throughout the year that are easy to get to, and we also attend several Class "A" shows as well as Regional and National Competitions. My riders are encouraged to set goals and showing is a great way to show off what you have learned as well as figure out what you need to work on.

Training

Full and Partial training is available for Arabian and Half-Arabian Show Horses as well as training for all breeds. I believe in consistency as well as a non-threatening approach to training. Almost all of my horses that are in training are also mounts for their amateur riders. I believe that each rider can learn the riding skills necessary to ride their horse effectively and with confidence.
